On site
Every edition supports stationary scanning. Owl Max premium also supports handheld scanning while you move.
Owl standard and Owl premium use the 3-camera scanner; Owl Max premium uses the 5-camera scanner. Where they differ, both values are shown. See capture modes
199 × 139 × 100 mm, 1.6 kg.
Whole-room and drawing accuracy also depend on capture, alignment and editing.

Yes. Each deposit gets its own code, and each code can be used once with the email you paid the deposit with.
Owl Max premium supports both stationary and handheld scanning. Owl standard and Owl premium scan from a fixed position on a tripod. The 5 mm at 10 m ranging specification applies to stationary capture; handheld mode is specified at 2 cm.
The unprocessed point cloud, to judge coverage and how stations connect. Full panoramas are generated in RayStudio after processing.
About 1 min 20 s in Fast mode, 2 min 30 s in Standard and 5 min in High resolution, which gives the densest point cloud for measuring. At each station, Owl turns once to scan with the laser and once more to take photos.
Three ways: plug a USB drive (exFAT or NTFS) into Owl and export from the app, connect your computer to Owl’s Wi-Fi and transfer in RayStudio, or take out the microSD card and copy the project with a card reader.
No. RayCraft extracts the walls and JIMUMETA generates a basic floor plan. You check it against the point cloud in the 3D window, adjust walls, add doors and windows, then export. It is not a construction drawing.
Yes. Process and export point clouds locally in RayStudio. You can also generate and export Owl panorama images locally for free, with no limit on the number of projects or exports. No upload to JIMUMETA is required. The watermark in free JIMUMETA tours appears in the online scene, not in exported panorama images. Online hosting is optional and follows its own plan limits.
RayStudio processing, supported point-cloud export and local panorama image generation and export, plus AI floor plan extraction, editing and PDF. CAD and GLB downloads, drafting and some hosting options are paid.
It is the specified stationary ranging accuracy at a 10 m distance. It is not the handheld-mode specification. Whole-room and drawing accuracy also depend on capture, alignment and editing.
You can use exported panorama images with a compatible viewer on your own website, or embed a JIMUMETA-hosted project. Self-hosting requires your own viewer, navigation and hosting; exported images do not include a complete JIMUMETA tour. Watermarks and link validity for JIMUMETA-hosted projects depend on your plan.
Owl standard and Owl premium include the 3-camera scanner for stationary capture. Owl Max premium includes the 5-camera scanner, adding handheld mode and binocular visual tracking. Compare editions lists what is in each box.
On iPad, the capture app runs on models with an M1 chip or newer. On a phone, connect to Owl’s Wi-Fi and scan from your web browser; there is no app to install. The iPad or phone is not included.
No subscription is needed for scanning, RayStudio processing, supported point-cloud export or local panorama image generation and export. Owl is a one-time purchase. JIMUMETA online hosting is optional, with free and paid plans; a free account includes two online spaces, shown with a watermark.
Exported point clouds and panorama images can be used in compatible third-party software. Check the supported formats and project size in your chosen app. Processing a raw scan project directly requires additional technical integration.
Owl works indoors and outdoors, but it is not waterproof. Dark or low-reflectivity surfaces, glass, mirrors, occlusion and moving people all affect capture.
Deposits close November 2.
Reserve for €40A €40 deposit gives you a personal code worth €200 off one Owl LiDAR Scanner, in any edition. The code can be used once, from November 3, with the email address used for the deposit. It can’t be combined with other discount codes and doesn’t apply to accessories.
A deposit can be refunded any time before the launch offer ends. Refunding a deposit cancels its code.
Prices with the deposit are launch prices from November 3 minus the €200 code. First-batch prices apply to the first 100 units of each edition; later launch prices apply after that. The code applies to both.
Common hardware specifications apply across the three editions; capture modes differ. The 5 mm ranging specification applies to stationary capture at 10 m; scan range is specified at 20% reflectivity. Whole-room and drawing accuracy also depend on capture, alignment and editing.
Point-cloud views may use height color, transparency and cropping; fly-throughs are rendered in a single color. Gaps in the floor at stations are filled for display. Shop signs are blurred in gallery images. AI floor plans are a starting point; check dimensions against the point cloud before you rely on them.
Videos are edited; clip duration is not scan time. 48 MP is the resolution of each of the three imaging cameras, not the panorama output. Owl Max premium adds two cameras. Camera resolution does not specify point-cloud density or ranging accuracy.
JIMUMETA outputs, hosting, sharing and embedding depend on the selected service and plan.
Early tester projects were scanned and rendered by the testers and are shown as examples. Thanks to Kevin Edwards for sharing his scans.
